ELDER MINISTRY AT SHARON

Welcome to the Elder's Page at Sharon.  Elders are called to "lead" the local body, and that is what our elders do here at Sharon. 

ELDER' NAMES (WIFE'S NAME)

• Ed Attaway (Pam) - Ed provides leadership to our Personnel Team.  They have the responsibility to assisting in resolving issues between people who attend Sharon when a relationship appears to have hit an impass.  This team also provides a safe place for leaders to come to seek guidance and counsel regarding issues in their personal lives.
• Clay Lawrence (Sybil) - Clay provides leadership to our Finance Team.  They have the responsibility to ensure that our church acts as stewards of every penny given to God through our church.
• Luther Brown (Teri) - Luther provides leadership to our Deacon Team and acts as a liaison between our Deacon and Elder ministries.
• Kent Bookout (Christy) - Kent provides leadership to our Elder Team, ensuring that the team operates according to the guidelines created for it.
• Steve Sanders (Tina) - Steve provides leadership to our Mission Team, by partnering with our Mission's Pastor to oversee Sharon's attempt to participate in mission efforts locally, nationally, and internationally through giving, praying, and going.
• Gary Lewis - (Krissy) - As our senior pastor, Gary provides leadership to our church staff and the hundreds of lay leaders who combine their efforts to make our church function in a healthy manner.

A FEW NOTES ABOUT OUR ELDERS
1. The elders serve on a rotation basis, with 1 elder rotating off the elder team each year.
2. All issues resolved among the elders require a unanimous decision among the elder team.
3. The church will have an Open Elder's Meeting four times each year so that the church congregation will have opportunities to ask questions and participate in all of the various facets of our church.
